James Dondero joins SMU to better the society

Investing your money in what you do not understand is risky. That is why the Southern Methodist University (SMU) was glad to appoint James Dondero to the Executive Board. The School of Business believed that it would be beneficial towards achieving its objectives.

Mr. Dondero’s roles in Dallas

James Dondero has been instrumental to the success of the Dallas community. Therefore, his appointment to the board of SMU improves the reputation of his asset management firm, Highland Capital Management, L.P. The Southern Methodist University offers scholarship programs to bright students across Dallas. Therefore, the partnership between James Dondero and the SMU will make Dallas a better place for the young generation.

James Appointed Executive Board

Besides offering scholarships, the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University contributes to the initiatives of the Dallas Society. Highland Capital Management has been a beneficiary of the Cox School of Business regarding business creation and client maintenance.

Speaking to the news press on 2nd November 2016, James Dondero appreciated his appointment to the board of SMU. Kenneth also said he was willing to work with the board members to improve the living standards for the Dallas Community. Mr. James Dondero’s appointment to the board came as good news considering the on-going initiatives at the Cox School of Business.

SMU Board Members

The Executive Board of Southern Methodist University comprises of 100 members. Most of the members are not academic-oriented. They focus on offering strategic advice to the school of business. The board meets three times annually. They meet in the fall, winter, and spring.

James Dondero joined the University of Virginia in 1984 to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Accounting.
